Expatriate Bangladeshis living in the UK shared their ideas for the next national parliament during a seminar held on November 25, 2025, in East London regarding “The Ideal Representative in upcoming Parliament election.” The seminar was arranged by Policy for Good Governance and the organizer’s wanted representatives who are honest, skilled, knowledgeable, selfless, fair, and love their country.
Different communities people including politicians, academics, students, researchers, public representatives, community leaders, and professionals were present in the seminar. Mahbuba Zabin, the organization’s Coordinator, led the meeting.
Barrister Tarek Bin Aziz, Nasrullah Khan Junayed, Barrister Mehnaz Mannan, Shakir Hossain, President of the Bangladesh Press Club UK, Shams Chowdhury, Westminster Borough Councillor, Barrister Mahabubur Rahman, and Abdul Mukit, President of the Bangladesh Welfare Council, were some of the most important speakers. Shahidul Islam Mamun, Joint General Secretary of UK BNP; Nazmul Huda Sagar, former VP of Savar Government College Student Union; Badiuzzaman Badi; Barrister Mufti Nafis; Barrister Kaniz Fatema; and others were also important speakers.
The talks were mostly about how important it is to have public representatives who will make sure that taxpayers’ money is utilized wisely and that they are held accountable for their activities. The speakers also stressed how important it is to choose leaders who are educated, skilled, and principled, and who would talk about facts in parliament and help make policies that are good for the people.
Barristers Faisal Ahmed, Faisal Jamil, Iftekhar Roni, and campaigners Taslima Taj, Anjana Alam, Aminul Hasan, Tuhin Mollah, Faruk Hossain, Sheikh Nasir, Maruf Giyas Bappi, Rabea Papiya, Masud, and others also spoke.
The seminar also had a lot of new voters, like Ariz Ahmed, Jannatun Nessa Chayan, Ifrad Hossain, Bandhan, and Anwar Hossain Shobuj Chowdhury, who all took part in the speeches.
Some of the most important political figures who were there were Ali Akbar Khokon, Alauddin Russell, Sheikh Sohel Mia, Mohammad Saifuddin, Ahmed Sadiq, Maksudur Rahman, Saiful Islam Miraz, journalist Abdul Kader Zilani, Monir Hossain, Sakhawat Hossain Faraji, community leader Faisal Ahmed, and more than a hundred Bangladeshis living abroad.
