The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) recently hosted a fun “Choruibhati” (Picnic) event with a lively cricket match. It was held offering an opportunity for students and faculty to bond in a festive atmosphere.
To add extra excitement to the picnic, a friendly cricket match was organized, featuring a spirited competition between the students of the 1st Batch and the 2nd Batch. The match was the highlight of the day, showcasing great sportsmanship and camaraderie. While the competition on the field was intense, the overall environment was filled with friendship, bringing a refreshing break from academic routines.
The event was graced by the presence of the Chairman of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Professor Dr. Md. Iqbal Mahmud. He spent quality time with the students, encouraging them throughout the match and the feast.
In his address, the Chairman stated , Extracurricular activities like these play a vital role in the mental development of students and in strengthening mutual relationships. The Mechanical Engineering family will always move forward unitedly. Amidst academic pressures, such a day helps students relieve exhaustion and inspires them to work with renewed energy.The day was capped off with a traditional feast served in the afternoon. The Chairman and the students from both batches sat together to enjoy the meal, fostering a sense of a close-knit family within the department.
The event concluded with lively conversations and shared memories.
The students expressed that having their respected teacher by their side throughout the cricket match and the picnic made the day truly special and memorable.
