The Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) Journalists’ Association has officially announced its Executive Committee for the 2025–2026 term. Ishtiaq Ahmed, the MBSTU journalist for the daily Jaijaidin, has been chosen as the new committee’s President. Mehedi Hasan Khan, the MBSTU correspondent for Manabzamin and Shomoy Tarongo, has been chosen as the new General Secretary.
The association’s general meeting on Monday, December 15, approved a seven-member executive body, which led to the formation of the committee. Moreover in the committee Sujan Chandra Das is the Vice President (The Daily Campus). Israt Jahan( The Daily Observer) is the Joint Secretary and Alif Mia(Daily Amader Tangail) elected as the treasurer. Members of the Executive committee are consecutively Al-Sadid Khan Shuvo (Mazlumer Kontho)Hasib Ibn Mamun Prince (Daily Lokokotha).
Newly President Ishtiaq Ahmed said in his speech that the group will do everything it could to make sure that journalism was fair and responsible. He stressed how important it was to stay strong against corruption and wrongdoing while defending truth and justice. He also talked about efforts to promote the university’s curriculum, research, and accomplishments both in the US and beyond the world.
Mehedi Hasan Khan, the General Secretary, stated that their main purpose is to report the news in a way that is accurate and responsible, while also keeping peace and collaboration on campus. He stated that, alongside highlighting factual and positive developments, the association intends to construct an information-based communication bridge among students, faculty members, and the university administration.
