Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) commemorated the historic Victory Day with a series of solemn and celebratory events on December 16.The observance began at 7 am with a flag-raising ceremony inside the institution’s administration building. The national and university flags were both raised to honor the event.
A triumph rally headed by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Anwarul Azim Akhand went through the campus and then there was an homage at the “Prottay-71” monument. People from the university and the campus community lay wreaths of flowers in memory of the martyrs.

Along with the official rituals, many university groups, such as hall associations, staff bodies, Badhan, Dhruvatara, the Science Club, the Mawlana Bhashani Band Music Community, and the Indigenous Students’ Organization, also paid their respects at the memorial.
During the day, there were other events, such as a drawing contest for kids, a biscuit race, a volleyball game between students and faculty/staff, a pillow-passing game for female students, teachers, and staff, a special prayer service at the Govind Temple, a dua session after the Zohr prayer at the central mosque, a cultural program, and the serving of special meals in the university halls.
The day’s events were attended by Deans, the Acting Registrar, Hall Provosts, Department Chairs, the Director of the Student Welfare and Counselling Centre, the Proctor, as well as teachers, staff, and students, which was a fitting way to honour the country’s independence.
